Garlic bread with corn cakes: crunchy and tasty snack in the air fryer
2 large flour tortillas 🌯
2 tablespoons (≈30 g) unsalted buttermelted 🧈
2 teeth finely chopped garlic (or 1 tsp garlic powder) 🧄
½ cup (≈50 g) grated mozzarella cheese 🧀
1 tablespoon of fresh parsley or Italian seasoning (optional) 🌿
Salt and black pepper to taste
Optional: 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese either chili flakes 🌶️
Heat the air fryer to 190°C for 2-3 minutes. This ensures that the tortillas cook evenly and turn out crispy.
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with the minced garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs if you decide to use them. This mixture will be responsible for giving you all the flavor to your garlic bread.
Spread one side of each tortilla with the butter-garlic mixture. Then, flip the tortilla over and cover the other side as well. This ensures that every bite has perfect flavor and texture.
Sprinkle half the mozzarella cheese (and Parmesan, if using) over half of each tortilla. Fold the tortillas into a semicircle to trap the cheese and create a crunchy “mini quesadilla.”
Place the tortillas in single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook during 4-5 minutesturning them halfway through, until golden and crispy. If your fryer is small, do it in batches.
Remove the tortillas, cut into wedges and sprinkle with more parsley, Parmesan cheese or some chili flakes if you want a spicy touch. Serve immediately and enjoy a snack that combines flavor, texture and practicality.
For an extra golden: Spray some cooking spray on the tortilla before cooking.
Gourmet variant: Add thin slices of mushroom or serrano ham inside the tortilla before folding it.
Quick snack: You can prepare several tortillas in advance and reheat in the fryer to maintain the crispy texture.
Light version: Substitute olive oil for the butter and use low-fat cheese.
