A rich dessert typical of Galicia, especially from Ourense and Lugo.

Ingredientes

  • Mass for the canes:
  • 100 grams of water
  • 500 grams flour
  • 50 grams lard
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Sunflower oil for frying
  • Custard cream:
  • 500 grams milk
  • 100 grams of sugar
  • 50 grams cornstarch
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • Sugar glas to decorateUtensils:
  • Canute molds (wood, metal or plastic)
  • Pastry sleeve

Preparación

  1. In the glass of the thermomix place the flour and the lard to knead, program 2 minutes / cup closed / Speed ​​spike
  2. Then, remove the cup from the thermomix cup and add the pinch of salt and little by little the water through the mouth, program 2 minutes / cup closed / Speed ​​spike
  3. Place the dough on the countertop, previously floured, stretch finely, 0,5 cm thick, then cut into strips 5 cm wide by 15 or 20 cm long.
  4. Grease the canutos with sunflower oil and roll each one with the 15 cm strips that you have cut.
  5. Carefully, in a pan with hot oil, cold each piece or cane until they are golden, remove them from the fire, place them on absorbent paper, also carefully remove the mold and let cool and reserve.
  6. Now, while the canes are cooled, prepare the pastry cream, in the glass of the thermomix once clean and dry, add the eggs, the oil, the sugar, the vanilla, the cornstarch, the milk and a pinch of salt. Program 7 minutes / Temperature 90 ° / speed 4.
  7. Add the pastry cream to a pastry sleeve, let cool.
  8. Once they are cold, the canes and the pastry cream are filled in generously.
  9. Sprinkle with icing sugar and they are ready to enjoy.

You can accompany it with hot chocolate or for the biggest and daring ones with a glass of coffee liqueur or a sweet wine.
