The combination of spices and herbs makes each mini burger have its own personality. Additionally, the air fryer ensures that the meat is juicy and the bread has a crunchy touch without needing a lot of oil. In just 15-18 minutes you will have a delicious, healthy dish with a Mediterranean style 😍
The first time I made them was for a light summer meal and they were an instant hit. Since then, they have been my go-to when I want something quick but that really surprises the palate.

Mediterranean Sliders in Air Fryer
For the burgers:
🥩 400 g minced beef, chicken or lamb
🌿 1 teaspoon ground cumin
🌶️ 1 teaspoon sweet or smoked paprika
🧄 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
🧂 Salt and pepper to taste
Extras:
🥯 6 mini slider muffins
🍅 6–8 dried tomatoes (hydrated if dry)
🌱 A handful of fresh arugula
🧀 6–8 thin slices of soft gouda, mozzarella or feta cheese (optional)
For the yogurt sauce:
🥄 3 tablespoons natural yogurt
🍋 1 teaspoon lemon juice
🧄 1/2 teaspoon finely chopped garlic
🌿 1 teaspoon fresh herbs (parsley, mint or basil)
🧂 Salt and pepper to taste
Grades:
– You can add chopped black olives for extra flavor.
– The sauce can be spicy if you mix yogurt with a little harissa.
– If you use lamb, a touch of fresh rosemary greatly enhances the aroma.
What you need:
– Air fryer (4–5 liters)
– Large bowl for meat
– Small bowl for sauce
– Spatula or tongs
Previous preparation:
Hydrate the sun-dried tomatoes if they are dry, cut the arugula, prepare the bread and mix the yogurt sauce. Having everything ready makes assembly quick and clean 🧑🍳
Mix the yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, fresh herbs, salt and pepper. Reserve in the refrigerator until ready to assemble the sliders.
Mix the meat with cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Divide into 6 portions and flatten into discs a little larger than bread.
Preheat the fryer to 190°C. Place the burgers in the basket without crowding them and cook for 6–8 minutes, turning them halfway through. Add cheese at the last minute if you wish.
Open the buns and toast them for 2–3 minutes at 180°C for a crispy, golden touch.
Place bread base, yogurt sauce, cheeseburger, dried tomato slices, arugula, more sauce if you want and cover with bread. Press lightly and serve instantly.
– Do not knead the meat too much to keep it juicy.
– Very cold yogurt sauce enhances the Mediterranean flavors.
– Hydrated dried tomato and thin strips integrate better with the meat.
– Toast the bread lightly for crunchy contrast.
Problem: Dry burgers.
Cause: Meat that is too lean or overcooked.
Solution: Adjust fryer time and use meat with a little fat.
Problem: Soft bread.
Cause: It is not toasted.
Solution: Toast for 2–3 minutes at 180°C before assembling.
🔥 Spicy version: mix a little harissa into the yogurt sauce.
🧀 Extra cheese: add crumbled feta cheese or extra mozzarella.
🌱 Vegetarian: chickpea or lentil burger with the same assembly.
👶 Kids-friendly: without strong herbs and very chopped dried tomatoes.
🥓 Gourmet version: Add chopped black olives or a touch of fresh rosemary.
Serve the sliders freshly made, with fresh arugula and visible sauce 🍃. They go perfect with Greek salad, sweet potato chips or air potatoes. To drink, lemonade, cold tea or light white wine.
🥡 Storage: Cooked meat without assembly for up to 2 days in the refrigerator.
❄️ Freezing: You can freeze cooked burgers individually.
♨️ Overheating: 3–4 minutes at 170°C in air fryer.
Can I use other meat?
Yes, chicken or lamb work great.
