Dorada and Prawn Ceviche ingredients with Thermomix
500 grams of fresh sea bream, skinless and boneless.
250 grams of prawns, peeled and deveined.
2 lemons, squeezed
1 orange, squeezed
1 red onion, julienne cut.
1 red bell pepper, seeded and julienned.
1 bunch of fresh coriander, finely chopped
Salt and pepper to taste.
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil.
1 jalapeno or hot pepper (optional), seeded and thinly sliced
1 ripe avocado, cut into cubes.
Preparation of Dorada and Shrimp Ceviche with Thermomix
Start by preparing all the ingredients for the ceviche. Wash the fresh sea bream well, making sure to remove the skin and bones. Cut the fish into small pieces and reserve in a separate container.
Preparation of the marinade: In the Thermomix glass, add the freshly squeezed lemon and orange juice. Add the julienned red onion and the julienned red bell pepper. Add the finely chopped fresh cilantro and season with salt and pepper to taste. If you want a spicier ceviche, add the thinly sliced jalapeño or hot pepper. Mix everything for 10 seconds at speed 5.
Sea bream and prawn marinade: Pour the marinade over the pieces of sea bream and prawns in the reserved container. Make sure all the ingredients are well covered with the marinade. Let sit for 15 minutes for the flavors to meld and the citrus to “cook” the shellfish and fish slightly.
After the resting time, add the extra virgin olive oil and gently mix all the ceviche ingredients. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. If you like your ceviche more acidic, you can add more lemon or orange juice.
To serve the sea bream and shrimp ceviche, place the avocado cubes on top of the already marinated ceviche. You can decorate with some fresh coriander leaves and some lemon or orange slices to give it a touch of color and freshness.
