Key Ingredient Benefits
- Fresh ginger:
- Ginger is famous for its bioactive compounds, such as gingerol, which help reduce inflammation and fight microbes. Its ability to soothe the throat and reduce congestion makes it an essential ally during colds.
- Turmeric root:
- Turmeric contains curcumin, a compound that has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that strengthen the immune system. If you do not have fresh turmeric, you can use dried turmeric for similar benefits.
- Honey:
- Honey is a natural antioxidant that also acts as an antibacterial. It is known to soothe throat irritation and improve cold symptoms. In addition, its sweet flavor balances the acidity of the lemon and the spiciness of the ginger.
- Lemon:
- Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C, an essential nutrient that strengthens the immune system. It also helps alkalize the body and fights free radicals.
- Ground pepper:
- A touch of black pepper enhances the absorption of curcumin from turmeric, maximizing its anti-inflammatory benefits.
